In part 1 of this guide, I explained why posting blog content on Hive is one of the best ways that Axie scholars can increase their crypto earnings as gamers.
In part 2 of this guide I will give you a full content strategy for how to make posts on the Hive blockchain and earn some crypto. The strategy is designed to be do-able even for people who do not have a lot of content creation of experience.
It takes work, and usually 5–10+ hours per week to really do it right on Hive. This isn’t easy money… but, it’s a real way to earn crypto and to be less vulnerable to the price movements of tokens and assets within Axie or any one blockchain game.
With all that said… let’s dive in.
Posting Axie Content on Hive
Once you make your Hive account and safely store your keys, it is time to think about your first Hive post.
You have a lot of options of what you can post about. Many styles and topics work. I know having a lot of options can be overwhelming and it can be hard to start.
Let me recommend a good starting method for posting on Hive. I recommend the daily journal format.
Some players, including scholars, use their Hive blog page as a daily journal where they post about each day’s Axie arena session. They post 300+ words talking about the day’s matches and usually share a highlight video of one match.
You can find these posts on something called a hive “sub-community.” Sub-communities are like sub-reddits and contain content around a common theme. For Axie Infinity content, the main sub-community is called Axie Buzz.

Looking at Axie Buzz and filtering by “new posts” (my favorite filter), we can see a few of these daily journals.
You can see these are earning an average of a few dollars each. Nothing crazy, but not bad for sharing a few paragraphs about the day’s grind.
Even better, sometimes your post gets chosen by a “Curation Trail” which is a combination of many users who allocated some “Hive Power” (staked hive tokens) to the trail for upvoting content. These votes can be very big.
You can see in my recent posting history, two of my last five posts earned around $30 each. That’s good!
IMPORTANT: When you see the money amount being rewarded to a post, only half of it goes to the author. The other half goes to the curators, the early voters on the post, based on a complex algorithm. This rewards and incentivizes people into curating lots of interesting content.
So when I earn $30 on two posts, I really get $15 from each post. My total for those two posts combined is $30.
Considering that the average scholar earns less than $20 per week or less with the current SLP price, even one “curation trail” vote per week can double your Axie earnings.
Not Guaranteed, but Good Opportunity
This is of course not guaranteed. But, I know right now there is not a lot of Axie content being posted on the site. Having been involved with this blockchain since the old days of 2017, I know that there’s a great opportunity for most users to get at least one post that earns $20+ each week. Maybe even multiple!
I just think it’s a huge opportunity since making a post and sharing a highlight match does not take nearly as long as grinding the Axie game itself. You can spend an extra 10–15 minutes per day and get this done.
In fact, sharing some thoughts on each day’s grind can make you better at the game and help you to make some more friends. To me this a win/win.
Of course, as with any legitimate source of income, it does require hard work. The reality is that a successful content creator on Hive will spend at least 5–10 hours per week managing the content.
You want to post at least 3 times per week. The maximum is posting twice per day — more than that would probably seem like “spam” and hurt your blog’s earnings.
The reason it’s important to post at least 3+ times per week, is that more posts (as long as they’re good and not spam) increase the chance of getting selected by a curation trail and getting one of those bigger votes.
It’ll also help you get more followers in general. More content helps, as long as the content is still good.
Participating in the Community
The one other piece of the formula for success on Hive is to engage with the community.
The simplest way to be a part of the community is to take some time to read and respond to other Axie players’ posts. I recommend filtering the Axie Buzz sub-community by “New posts” and then reading a few of the Axie journals that were posted that day.
You can leave 1–2 replies per day and it’ll help a lot in getting to know other people on the Hive network. Also, the Hive “whales” are usually happier to support creators who are engaged in the community… they will notice.

What is 1UP?
Do you play other blockchain/play2earn games besides Axie? Many scholars and even managers are starting to get involved in other games, ranging from Gods Unchained to Pegaxy, Thetan Arena to Splinterlands, and plenty of other games besides.
If you do, you should take some time to look at 1UP. It’s a sub-community on Hive for ALL blockchain games.
You can even tag 1UP on your Axie content so your post shows up on both Axie Buzz and 1UP simultaneously. This increases your post’s exposure and makes it more likely that you can get upvotes.
Personally I use 1UP as a way to stay up-to-date with the latest crypto gaming projects. It’s hard to play everything yourself. Besides, many games are super early access and some are just a complete waste of time. Reading content on 1UP is a good way to learn more without losing all of your spare time to crypto game research.
If you decide to post content about blockchain games other than Axie, posting on 1UP is the way to go. Hive is full of different communities that you can participate in.

I think every single Axie scholar who has ANY writing skills at all should consider blogging about their Axie experience on Hive. It’s a simple way to add more cryptocurrency income into your life while reducing stress from Axie.
