A member of my chat, whom I’ll call “xXsephiroth69Xx,” is telling me about his experience as a Twitch viewer. We’re talking about the challenge of variety streaming, how many viewers will join for one game and then unfollow as soon as you move on to a new one.

xXsephiroth69Xx followed me when I was playing through the Mega Man X series, a difficult set of platformers starting with one of the best games of all time and quickly degenerating from there. He soon became one of my loyal regulars.

It’s very interesting what he’s saying — that he mostly only watches Mega Man.

Because I haven’t played Mega Man in a month, and yet he’s hanging out in my chat! He’s literally telling me how he generally unfollows people once they stop playing Mega Man, as he watches me play Cuphead.

How can you create this effect? How can you make variety the theme of your stream and therefore capture the much-desired audience of people who will actually watch a variety stream?
